In the early morning hours of April 14, 2026, my family and I woke to someone trying to get into our window. I turned the light on and yelled through the window that I was calling the police and commanded them to leave my porch on several occasions. Not only did he fail to listen to my commands, his search for entry appeared to escalate. My wife called 911 and secured our children in a back room with single entry while I secured the rest of the home. The man then attempted to enter the front door despite my commands that he leave and notifying him that we had called the police. 

About 10-15 minutes after the first call, and subsequent calls to update dispatch on developments and to figure out when help would arrive, La Verne Police officers arrived. They arrived calm, professional, dispatch professionally and clearly instructed us on what to do to maintain and safe and de-escalated situation. The entire incident was resolved without issue. It frightened my barricaded children during a time of day they should have been peacefully preparing for school.

That day, I decided I would devote my best talents to not only ensuring the financial stability and securilty of my family, but also the financial stability and security of the community in which I am raising my family. I want to work to stop threats before they get to my window and door. We can be safer, stronger, and better, but we need creativity, energy, and passion from our council. That is why I decided to run for District 1.
